MISSION & VISION

    1. Become a leading Teacher Education Institution, with regional and national recognition.
    2. Taking up the leading role in educational studies and research.
    3. Creating a dynamic and student-friendly campus on the lines of the reputed nationally and internationally recognized institutions.
    4. Becoming a Regional Institute offering a variety of professional courses and programmes.
    5. Catering to the Human Resource Development needs of the professional organizations and agencies.

 

SHORT TERM PLAN

Keeping in view of the mission, immediate attention should be given to the following short term plan:

1.      To create new departments in response to emerging demands (Physical education, Special Education and Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR)

2.      To open add-on courses like NIELIT CCC course and Post Graduate Certificate in Reflective Teaching in ICT (RTICT) in collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai

Research

1.      To open research degree courses like M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Education.

2.      To provide research based feeders to meet the educational needs of the state.

3.      To establish Research Centre for educational studies, planning and management as a functional wing of IASE.

3.

Human Resources & Professional Development

1.      To develop a mixed academic community to promote new innovations in teaching and learning.

2.      To improve Teacher pupil ratio by recruiting top quality faculty.

3.      To organise a continuous and systemic faculty professional development programme.

4.      To offer Consultancy Services to Government and Private, educational Institutions, organizations, etc.

5.      To provide academic and professional guidance to other educational organizations and academic agencies like DIETs, MBSE, RMSA, SSA, etc.

6.      To organise training, conferences, workshops, meetings, seminars, discussions for educational personnel.

Infrastructure& Library

1.      To create academic ambience and develop the state-of-the-art facilities in order to enhance learning output.

2.      To enrich the online resources in the library through constant updation.

 

MEDIUM PLAN

The short term plan will be carried forward for the medium plan and in addition to that, the following new areas will be included in the medium plan:

1.      To expand the existing departments by offering different levels of education starting from diploma to Ph.D.

2.      To open new departments like Educational Planning and Management, Early childhood care and education, distance education, etc.

3.      To offer short term courses like Research methodology and Statistics, Methods of Teaching, ICT in education, special education, curriculum planning and development, etc. for professionals working in the educational sector.

4.      To offer short term self financing courses for desirous educational personnel.

Research

1.      To conduct research studies on essential concerns, problems and issues of education in Mizoram.

2.      To help the State Government and concerned agencies in Monitoring and Evaluating of various educational Programmes.

3.      To become a collaborating agency to the state government in documenting the findings of M.Ed., M.Phil. and Ph.D.studies and routing them to the appropriate agencies.

Infrastructure & Library

1.      To establish state of the art Physical infrastructure, Library and Computer Laboratory.

2.      To open international standard accommodation arrangements and Guest House.

3.      To provide Health services to the students, faculty and staff.

 

 

LONG TERM PLAN

The long term goal of the institution is to become a State University for Teacher Education, Educational Planning and Management.

After fulfilling the short and medium plan, the institution can be upgraded to a State University. The additional activities that the institution may have to take up as a State University are given below:

  1. To offer various courses (Diploma- research degree) and award degrees for the same.
  2. To undertake, aid, promote andcoordinate research in various aspects of 
  3. To organize orientation and training programmes and refresher courses forteacher-educators and for University and College. 
  4. To collaborate with other agencies, institutions and organizations, including the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Universities, national University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI, National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
  5. To disseminate advanced knowledgeby providing instructional, research and extension facilities.
  6. To offer additional Courses on any of the teacher educational Programmes:
        1. Two Year B.P.Ed. and M.P.Ed.
        2. Four Year integrated B.A., B.Sc.B.Ed.
        3. Three year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
